If you missed out on our first Winter Seed Sowing workshop in January, no worries:
Come to this Session #2: Milk Jug Greenhouse Workshop!
Please register due to limited seating and supplies:
https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/native-plant-seed-sowing-winter-milk-jug-greenhouse-session-2-copy
What you can expect from this Make It & Take It Workshop!
In this workshop, you will create a mini-greenhouse from a common milk jug and sow native plant seeds in it. You will take your mini-greenhouse home, place it outside for the rest of the winter, and watch the seeds sprout and grow as the weather warms.
Why start your Garden Seeds now?
Winter is the best time to plant your Native Plant Seeds to be ready for your spring gardening.
* Winter Sowing allows the needed temperature and moisture changes that are essential for native seeds to sprout and grow. Once the warm weather returns, your "greenhouse" plants will be big enough to plant!
What to bring:
If you have one, bring an empty, clean gallon-sized plastic milk or vinegar jug and any native plant seeds that you would like to use.
HOWEVER, jugs, Newaygo County native seeds, and soil will be available for you at the workshop if you don't have any to bring!
Donations of $5 (or more if you are able!) are welcomed to cover the cost of supplies.
Extra native plant seeds may be available for purchase.
The workshop will be held at the NCEC office location, which is housed in the UCC building at
432 Quarterline St, Newaygo, MI 49337

This workshop is provided by the Newaygo County Environmental Coalition, a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the beauty and sustainability of the Newaygo Region through information, education and advocacy.
