About this Event
Join staff from the Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District and It's My City team members as well as neighborhood representatives from Millersville at Fall Creek Valley, Inc. for an outdoor workshop on establishing native plants from seed and plugs and stormwater management strategies! This workshop is targeting HOAs who are curious about how to incorporate native plantings into common areas, pond edges and slopes. The workshop will be held at a beautiful spot on Fall Creek and will highlight several facets of restoration including the following topics:
- Native plant establishment for slopes, shorelines and streambanks
- Invasive plant identification and treatment options including a W**d Wrangle
- Distribution of resources on stormwater management, including rain gardens
The program is funded with the generous support of the City of Indianapolis DPW It's My City program as well as a grant from State of Indiana Cooperative Invasives Management.
Attendees will be limited to 25 registrants.
Where: Millersville at Fall Creek Preserve (5500 E Fall Creek Pkwy N Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46220), located on the Fall Creek greenway between the 56th St and Emerson Way bridges, across Fall Creek Parkway from the Walmart Neighborhood Market.
When: 1:00-3:00 on Friday 11/21. Wear appropriate outdoor attire including "walkable" footwear!
