Professional Storyteller Maria Hussman will share history and stories from her culture at this one-of a kind event.
Maria Hussman (Beaver) is a proud Anishinaabe Mother, Artist, and Storyteller. She is a member of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians. Her people come from Beaver Island, and were survivors of the Mount Pleasant Indian Industrial Boarding School. Mrs. Hussman enjoys speaking and interacting with groups of all ages, and is an active member of various organizations that advance indigenous voices and causes. She sews, beads, and works with feathers in accordance with the Wild Bird Conservation Act. She looks forward to being friends with you.
