The Yankton Community Library will be hosting a special family storytime on Native American Day, Monday, October 13th at 6 pm. Jerome Kills Small, Oglala Sioux of Pine Ridge, South Dakota will be reading stories, playing his drum, and sharing his culture with all who attend. Families with children of all ages are welcome to come to this free event.Jerome is the recipient of the Distinguished Scholar Award from South Dakota Humanities Council, Reconciliation Award from the Governor of South Dakota, George Mickelson, University of South Dakota Poet of the Year in 1994, and he has awards and certificates for speaking at Red Road Retreat and the Building Bridges Conference. We hope that you will join us for this special night of family and Native American culture.
