Join the Nationwide March for Palestine here in Wooditchup (Margaret River) as we mark two years of ongoing genocide in Gaza and demand justice.As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen, we have witnessed devastating events in recent weeks. Most notably, a double airstrike on a major hospital resulted in the deaths of 20 individuals, including journalists and healthcare workers. The United Nations has officially declared a famine within the Gaza Strip.
The march also comes amid alarming new estimates based upon data collected by academics at Griffith University and La Trobe University, which place the death toll to 688,000 Palestinians; 380,00 of these are infants under five years of age (https://arena.org.au/politics-of-counting-gazas-dead/).
On August 24th, Australia saw the largest mobilisation for Palestine in our nation’s history. Despite this significant show of solidarity and public support, the Australian government has yet to take meaningful action to halt the genocide.
Therefore, we are renewing our calls for:
- Immediate sanctions on the Israeli state
- An end to the two-way arms trade
- The expulsion of the Israeli ambassador
