National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

In recognition of National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, observed annually on April 10, The Hearth Home invites young adults and community members to join us in raising awareness about HIV prevention, testing, and access to care.
National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day highlights the impact of HIV among young people and the importance of ensuring that younger generations have access to accurate sexual health education, prevention resources, and routine HIV testing.
In 2022, young people ages 13–24 accounted for 19% of new HIV diagnoses nationwide, with Black youth representing 50% of new diagnoses within this age group. Additionally, only 25% of young adults ages 18–24 reported ever having received an HIV test, highlighting the continued need for accessible testing and education.
At The Hearth Home, we recognize the importance of engaging young people in conversations about their sexual health and providing a welcoming environment where individuals can access services without stigma or judgment.
We encourage young adults and community members to visit The Hearth Home for free, confidential HIV testing, learn more about PrEP and other HIV prevention options, and connect with our team for education, resources, and support.
Whether you are testing for the first time or staying up to date with routine HIV screening, knowing your status is an important part of maintaining your health.
