National Press Club Headliners: fmr Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez

Former CEO of the Kellogg Company and former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez will discuss his book, “Sheer Will: Learning to Lead When There Is No Path,” at a Headliners Book Event on Thursday, October 8 at 6 p.m.
When Gutierrez was only six years old, his family fled the Cuban revolution with almost nothing, traveling to Miami and ultimately emigrating to Mexico. He began working for Kellogg selling cereal out of a van, and became the youngest CEO in the company’s 100-year history. He went on to serve as U.S. Secretary of Commerce for the Bush administration, and later held executive roles in nearly a dozen major companies.
The event will include a discussion with the author and a book signing. Ticket prices are $5 for National Press Club members and $10 for general admission.
