The Maria W. Faust Sonnet Contest invites you to celebrate the opening of this year’s contest and National Poetry Month on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 6:30 ‑ 9:00 pm at the Blue Heron Coffeehouse (162 W 2nd St.). Live music by Flutistry will accompany social time starting at 6:30pm.
The featured guest for the event will be Rick Hall, a Winona-based writer, poet, storyteller, songwriter, gardener, and creative explorer who currently serves as the arts administrator at the River Arts Alliance. His concept of how "GrowthQuakes" in our lives often lead to life-changing opportunities for creativity reminds us of how our benefactor Ted Haaland found his poetic muse through grief and loss.
Please join us for an evening of inspiration! Light refreshments will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.
