National Philanthropy Day 2024

The AFP Canada South Chapter is thrilled to announce that the 2024 National Philanthropy Day and Giving Heart Awards will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Hellenic Cultural Centre in Windsor, ON. Join us for a morning of inspiration, celebration, and community as we recognize the philanthropic efforts that shape and strengthen our region.

This year’s event will feature special guest speaker Aaron Sanderson, CFRE, ACFRE, AFP Canada Government Relations Chair and Senior VP Advancement & Chief Development Officer at Kids Help Phone. Aaron will share his insights on the theme of “Staying Connected,” drawing from his wealth of experience in fundraising and community building. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear from one of Canada’s most respected voices in philanthropy and to connect with others who share a passion for making a difference.

About Aaron Sanderson

Aaron Sanderson is the Chief Development Officer at Kids Help Phone, where he leads the organization’s fundraising efforts and engages a community of generous supporters. An internationally recognized fundraiser with over 16 years of experience, Aaron has worked with prominent organizations, including BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, Plan International Canada, SickKids Foundation, and War Child.

Aaron holds a Master of Arts in Philanthropy and Development and is one of only 11 Canadians to earn the prestigious Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE) designation. His contributions have been widely recognized, including being named a Top 40 Under 40 in North America by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy in 2018 and receiving the “Difference Maker” title from the Rick Hansen Foundation.
