Ever wanted to see a police dog in action? Sit inside a fire truck? National Night Out is the perfect opportunity for both of those things, and so much more. This family-friendly event happens Oct. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Countryside Mall and is a community engagement outreach tool for the Clearwater Police Department and Clearwater Fire & Rescue. You can meet police officers, firefighters and other employees of both first responder agencies. The police department will have representatives of several specialty units, including crossing guards, communications center, traffic enforcement team, SWAT, K-9 and multiple detective units.
The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. in the parking lot nearest U.S. 19 and Countryside Boulevard, just south of Whole Foods.
