The National Garden Scheme gives visitors unique access to over 3,500 exceptional private gardens in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands, and raises impressive amounts of money for nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cake. The Shakespearean Garden in Platt Fields Park will again be participating in the Scheme. We have continued to restore and maintain this beautiful haven, and we can't wait to share it with you again. In the last 12 months we have continued to develop the 'woodland walk', the fernery and stumpery and extend the south wall herbaceous bed.
We'll have refreshing treats and a few plants for sale. Find out more about our Garden in particular and the idea behind 'Shakespearean Gardens' in general from information boards on display. Whilst you are here you can view the splendid mural of Rosa Grindon just a stone's throw away near the entrance of the Park on the corner of Mabfield Road.
Outside the Garden we will have a marquee that will host the postcard art display - see detail in discussion post below - and (hopefully) the piano
Through the afternoon entertainment will be provided by harpist Susan Lambert (https://linktr.ee/susanlambertharp). Check back here for other surprises!
£5 for adults, and children are free. You can pay on the day or book your ticket in advance using the link below (also for more info).
