Join us at the Two Mississippi Museums on Tuesday, January 20, to celebrate the National Day of Racial Healing, established by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, as part of the MLK Celebration free weekend sponsored by FedEx. There will be a panel discussion in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. honoring the life and legacy of Rims and Judy Barber with a free lunch provided by the Foundation for the Mid South. Rims Barber was a Freedom Summer volunteer, served with the Children’s Defense Fund, and still actively engages with the community in Jackson. The Two Mississippi Museums will host a reflective happy hour at 4 p.m. in the lobby for attendees to share stories and reflections on the legacies of Rims and Judy Barber. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. For more information on the extended MLK Weekend Celebration, visit https://www.mdah.ms.gov/mlk2026.
