Narrow/Arrow originally found its footing as an indie/math-rock trio out of Mansfield, Ohio. Formed in 2013 by frontman Cody Nicolas and bassist Mark Canole (who later connected with drummer Jonathan Hape), the group blends rhythmically complex guitar-tapping styles with an "emo band with a pop agenda" mentality. They eventually signed to Other People Records and continue to tour extensively.
