Before New Brighton was formed the area was known as “Ye Black Rock” it was overrun with Pirates & Smugglers who feasted off the shipping lanes of Liverpool and the Rest of the World. The French and Germans are not the only nations that have been fought against, the fight on our own shores was a War that went on for over 400 Years.
Starting inside New Brighton’s Oldest Building Fort Perch Rock, our War Historian will introduce you to the Origins of the Fort and the Outbreak of Wars. Hear about what Life was like on the Homefront and the roles that were played by the Fort and other Fortifications on the Banks of the River Mersey during Wartime.
Following the Presentation, If You are able to walk you will then visit the sites of both Wallasey Battery’s, The Officers Mess Quarters, The Redcoats Quarters, The Bombed Locations, The Homeguard Buildings, the US Army Camps and so much more, This is the Ultimate War Tour in New Brighton Seaside Resort
