About this Event
Experts from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE), and the Napa County Agricultural Commissioner's Office will be presenting.
Topics will include:
- Learning to identify GWSS and GWSS egg masses, its life cycle and biology, statewide pest control efforts, and quarantine and shipping regulations governing GWSS movement.
- Understanding the role of the County Agricultural Commissioner in local GWSS enforcement, nursery stock inspections, and pest introduction prevention strategies.
- Exploring effective trap deployment strategies and how mobile data collection tools are improving GWSS monitoring efficiency.
- Diving into Pierce's disease basics, its pathogen (Xylella fastidiosa), blue-green sharpshooter vector behavior, spread risk factors, and integrated management strategies.
Attendees will qualify for 2 Hours of CE credits (2.0 Other).
