Name That Plant
Do you want to brush up on your plant keying skills? Join us for the inaugural plant keying party! As a group we will take plants through the dichotomous key to confidently identify the specimen. SOU will provide dissecting scopes and identification guides. Feel free to bring in a sample of a mystery plant (at least 10 sample cuttings , so we can all work collaboratively to identify your plant; please no garden ornamentals), or work on a plant provided by the organizer. All skill levels are welcome!
When August 17th, 5PM-7PM
Where: Southern Oregon University Science Hall Room 110
If you have a plant to bring, please do not overharvest wild plants. Make notes on when and where you collected. If you have a shrubby plant or tree, take photos and additional notes. Please do not dig up any plants by their roots.
