About this Event
🍕Are you – or do you know – a young person under 25 who helps support someone in their life?
Looking after someone is a big responsibility… and you deserve a break too.
Join us these Easter holidays for Pizza, Peers & Pathways — a chilled lunch and learn session designed especially for young carers aged 12–17yr. It’s a chance to connect with other young people who “get it”, enjoy some good food, recharge, and explore what’s possible for your future.
What you do matters — and so do you.
This event is all about creating space for young carers to breathe, connect and feel supported.

🚀 Pathways & Practical Support
We’ll be joined by Varsha and Marcus, our Vocational Navigators, who can help with real‑life next steps, such as:
✔️ Building or updating your résumé
✔️ Job searching and applications
✔️ Interview confidence and tips
✔️ Exploring study, training, or volunteering pathways
✔️ Understanding how caring gives you REAL skills employers value
You’ll also meet Robyn, our Carer Coach, who supports young carers with:
✔️ One‑to‑one guidance on personal goals
✔️Space to focus on your wellbeing—not just caring
✔️ Time to reflect on how life is going
✔️ Finding balance between your needs and the person you care for
✔️ Exploring positive changes you’d like to make
✔️ Practical steps to keep moving toward your goals
It’s not about having everything figured out — it’s about getting support to take the next step, whatever that looks like.
All Young Carers are welcome!
And if you’d like to bring a friend, you’re most welcome to do that too.
What is a Young Carer? (Simple Definition)
A young carer is a child or young person under 25 who helps care for someone in their family who needs extra support because of an illness, disability, mental health condition, addiction, or age related needs.
They might help with things like:
• cleaning, cooking, or household tasks
• reminding someone to take their medicine or attending appointments
• helping care for brothers or sisters
• keeping someone safe or helping them feel calm and supported
Young carers may help a little or a lot — every family is different. What matters is that they take on responsibilities beyond what is usually expected for their age.
