A course for those who don’t quite feel ready to join most regular walking groups, but want to get out to explore our countryside with others in a supportive setting. It may be that you don't feel fit enough or are recovering from injury or simply don't have the confidence to join a larger group. Either way we are here to help you overcome these issues.
Led by a qualified knowledgeable Mountain Leader, who is empathetic and supportive, we start with flat, short (approx. 2.5 miles), easy-paced walks and progress to longer, hillier routes over the 6 alternate weeks;
Personal service, with a regular, small group (8-12 people);
For individuals or couples who want to walk regularly and meet like-minded people.
This course will also help you learn about what to wear for walking in the hills; equipment you might bring; walking techniques; and what to do in an emergency.

Alternate Saturdays, starting on 10th Jan until 21st March
09:45 – 12:00 (approx. end time)
Mostly starting from Helmshore / Haslingden, Rossendale
How much does it cost?
The full 6-week course is £48,
or select any 3 weeks for £27,
or PAYG any session for £9.50
Are there restrictions?
We welcome everybody - this is not a ladies only event.
Well behaved, friendly dogs (on short leads); and children aged 5+ are also welcome to attend.
Check out our basic kit list, which will be sent to you on booking. The most essential item on there is a waterproof coat. Rossendale / Bury is often very wet and I will only cancel or postpone in extreme weather, when it would be deemed irresponsible to continue. If you have any queries about any items, please get in touch.
Once you have booked I will add you to our WhatsApp group (if you have selected to be added) where I will share details of where to meet each week and you can share photos if you wish. Please also look out for emails from me, which may end up in your junk mail.
