Nail Board meditation is a practice where participants meditate while standing on nail boards. The boards are designed with evenly spaced blunt copper nails that evenly distribute bodyweight. This practice challenges practitioners to overcome mental and physical discomfort, encouraging mindfulness, focus and resilience. This practice helps to build mental fortitude and mind-body control. It also encourages the release of fear and attachment, stimulates blood circulation and releases tension through acupressure-like effects. The meditation promotes relaxation and deep meditation states once the body adjusts. Colleen will be guiding you, supporting you and holding space through instruction while you are standing on the boards. Focus will be on breath, stillness, relaxation and non-resistance to discomfort. Healing sound will also be administered while in meditation.This practice will be coupled with the optional service of the plant medicine Hape'; a sacred shamanic snuff made from finely ground tobacco and other medicinal plants originating from indigenous Amazonian tribes. This medicine is traditionally used for spiritual cleansing, grounding and connecting with higher consciousness during ceremonies or meditation.
Hape' is optional, but when pairing the medicine with the nail board meditation, you can expect grounding of the mind and body, enhanced focus and openness, as well as deepening one's ability to remain present and non-reactive during discomfort.
Participants can opt in for either nail board meditation, Hape' or both.
*****Please bring a thick pair of socks to wear on the nail boards.
