WHY WE CALLED THIS GATHERING

Our elders carry the history. Our young people carry what comes next. Somewhere in between, we stopped talking to one other.

NAIJA FEST is a free, family-focused, youth-led festival, and the heart of it is a panel where both generations sit on the same stage. Not youth talking about elders. Not elders talking at youth. Everybody in the same room, answering real questions about where the gap came from and what we do about it.

Then the mic opens to you. Your questions, your comments, your suggestions. We take it all and we leave with something to act on.

Gates open at 1:30 PM. The panel begins promptly at 2:15pm and we are starting on time. Not Nigerian time. Actual time.

From the moment you walk in, there's something to get into: water, conversations, exhibits, stations and more. Also, there is face painting, games for everyone, the market, and food. Come early, greet your people, then take your seat.

• FASHION EXHIBITION For this exhibit, Glory presents a special collection inspired by the legendary Princess Inikpi Oma Idoko of the Igala Kingdom in present-day Kogi State, Nigeria.
• NIGERIAN FOOD Authentic food from NAIJA CUISINE. Jollof, suya, egusi, all the hits. Auntie is not letting you leave hungry.
• DANCE Heritage dance and an open floor. Come with your legs ready.

• FOR THE KIDS Face painting, interactive games, and room to be yourself.

Co-Emcees

• Echezona | An engineer by profession and community builder at heart, Echezona brings dynamic energy and warmth to the stage. With extensive experience hosting community gatherings and social events, he specializes in keeping audiences engaged, programs running smoothly, and every guest feeling included.
• Hon. Sir Barry | A dedicated California State employee and proud father of four, Hon. Sir Barry brings over 25 years of master of ceremony experience. His seasoned stage presence and decades of hosting ensure a memorable and polished experience for all attendees.

Co-Moderator

• Christine Onyebuchi | A passionate advocate for the African diaspora and her Igbo-Nigerian heritage, Christine is the founder of Sacramento Africans—a vibrant community network hosting cultural meetups, language exchanges, book clubs, and Sacramento Africans Day. A UC Irvine alumna and former Public Relations Officer for Umu Igbo Unite (Bay Area), she brings deep community organizing expertise and cultural storytelling to the stage.

• Ini | Current President of the Nigerian Student Association (NSA) at Sacramento State, Ini is a Political Science student with future aspirations in law and advocacy. At the intersection of culture, leadership, and style, she works to foster belonging among Nigerian students while building lasting bridges with the broader Sacramento community.
