102.5 ABC Perth has a significant milestone to celebrate - two of our radio presenters, Mark Gibson and Nadia Mitsopoulos, have been working in the media industry for 35 years!
This is extremely rare and in a cut-throat industry where the media landscape is constantly changing, it's something we really want to celebrate.
So, we're inviting listeners to take a peek behind the scenes at Mark and Nadia's careers: the highs and lows of surviving (and thriving) for 35 years, the successes they've had and the awkward moments they've had on and off the air.
Edith Cowan University was where it all began for Mark Gibson (it was WAAPA for him back then), so we're heading there for this one-off event.
Our special guest is ABC News Breakfast weather presenter Nate Byrne, who's returning to WA to host the event.
It'll be held at ECU's McCusker Recital Hall at the Minderoo Centre for Performance Excellence, ECU City campus (Roe Street entrance), on Thursday 27th August 2026 from 12.30pm to 2pm.
This is a chance for 102.5 ABC Perth listeners to get to know the 'presenter behind the program' and turn the microphone on them for a change!
ECU's next generation of journalists and media students are also taking part, providing them with unique access to the broadcasters who've helped shape Perth's media landscape.
