About This Convening
Join NACCL members for our first official convening as a national professional association. Created by CoC leaders, for CoC leaders, NACCL is being built around a stronger profession, a trusted peer community, and a national voice.
This is both a founding moment and a working convening. We will begin with current events and their impact on local systems, identify shared needs, and define what NACCL should get to work on first.
We have work to do together. Afternoon National Practice Council, Policy Forum, and Advocacy Gathering sessions will take one theme from the morning and begin a practical resource, project outline, or issue brief. Each group will identify first-90-day steps, volunteer contributors, and a proposed follow-up date.
Members will also seat the inaugural Board of Directors and identify up to three priorities for 2027, with a foundation for 2028. Leadership is not limited to a board seat. Lunch is provided from noon to 1:00 p.m., with no speakers or facilitated work; the program ends at 3:00 p.m.
Who Should Attend
NACCL member CoC executives, senior leaders, and designated organizational representatives. We anticipate 100 or more participants. Bring relevant experience and a willingness to contribute. Formal voting follows NACCL's adopted bylaws and eligibility requirements.
Choose Your Work Session
All six sessions run concurrently from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Select one and work with peers on a focused theme from the morning.
National Practice Council: New CoC Lead & Staff Orientation. A starter orientation outline and a first-90-day learning map.
National Practice Council: A Shared Resource Toolkit. Initial toolkit categories and a sample submission-and-review checklist.
National Practice Council: Training & Professional Development. Three training priorities and an outline for one initial learning session.
Policy Forum: CoC Interim Rule & Federal Policy. An issue brief outline with source references, evidence gaps, and next analysis steps.
Advocacy Gathering: Organizing Our National Voice. A member-to-NACCL communication workflow and a factual briefing template.
National Practice Council: CFOs & Other Lead-Agency Roles. A pilot peer-group outline, such as a CFO circle, with a first discussion topic.
These are starting work sessions. Continuing councils, forums, work plans, and resources will follow NACCL's adopted governance. Draft outputs require review before they are issued in NACCL's name.
