Naad Nritya Natya - Season 2

Naad Nritya Natya Season 2, presented by Chayanot Kolkata, brings together music, classical dance, theatre and storytelling in an evening celebrating the many dimensions of Indian artistic expression. The programme moves from the spiritual geometry of Odissi to the nostalgia of Bengali cinema, from the powerful voices of women in Birangana Kabya to the rhythmic dialogue between North and South Indian traditions.

The four segments Ardhanareshwara, an Odissi classical recital; Raage Anurage Uttam, a semi-classical musical soiree celebrating the legacy of Uttam Kumar; Birangana Kabya, an epic dance drama inspired by Michael Madhusudan Dutt; and North Meets South, a trio of rhythm featuring Pt Anindo Chaterjee (Tabla), Pt Gopal Burman (Srikhol), Somnath Roy (Ghatam), and Jnb Amaan Hussain (Sarangi) come together as one artistic journey.

More than a programme, Naad Nritya Natya seeks to create a dialogue between tradition and contemporary performance, where sound becomes movement, movement becomes narrative, and narrative becomes memory.
