About this Event
This interactive workshop invites children, families, and community members to explore the rich spring traditions of Mărțișor, Baba Marta, and Martenitsa through creativity and shared cultural stories. Taking place between 9:30 and 11:30, the session offers a relaxed and welcoming space where participants can slow down, connect, and celebrate the arrival of spring together.
Participants will create their own traditional red-and-white symbols, learning about their meaning across Romanian, Bulgarian, and wider Balkan cultures. These symbols represent renewal, good fortune, balance, and hope—values that remain deeply relevant in today’s multicultural communities. The workshop will combine hands-on crafting with gentle cultural storytelling, encouraging curiosity, conversation, and intergenerational learning. All materials will be provided, and activities will be adapted to suit different ages and abilities, making the workshop accessible and enjoyable for everyone. No prior experience is required—just an interest in culture, creativity, and celebrating spring as a shared human tradition.Where is it happening?
