Mālama Kino Cohort Program
About this Event
Mālama Kino - a cohort style program created intentionally for our poʻe Hawaiʻi (people of Hawaiʻi) and hoa (friends) to have a space to reground themselves and take care of their physical and mental wellness. Folks will participate in 3 classes (one per month from July through September) to build strength and steadiness through movement while also focusing on resting and the importance of to rejuvenating your mana.
How does this work?
Through the guidance of a lead instructor, this 8-person cohort will go through three different topics: Building Steadiness (July14), Mobility & Movement (August 20), and Rest & Sleep (September 17).
What does each session look like?
This space will be heavily influenced by the ways of Hawai'i, including using ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, soft mele, and other Hawaiian values.
Example of session flow:
- Mālie
- Warm-up
- Mindful Movement
- Rest
- Breath
- Personal reflection
Commitment?
This program is cohort-style, and while we do not enforce attendance, we do want folks to be intentional in joining this space. We are looking at 3 in-person sessions, with additional support in between sessions.
