About this Event

Música, Sound, Espacios: A Latin American and Spanish Film Series is a PRAGDA Spanish Film Club-sponsored event featuring Spanish and Portuguese-language films from the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Spain, Brazil, and Mexico that coincides with Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15, 2025. The film series includes introductions from faculty and guest scholars, a Q&A with a filmmaker, and space for USF students and Tampa Bay community members to discuss music and sound in film.

This event is free and open to all students, faculty, staff, and the community.

The Spanish Film Club series was made possible with the support of Pragda, SPAIN arts & culture, and the Secretary of State for Culture of Spain.

October 2, 2025: Boca Chica

(Gabriella A. Moses, Dominican Republic, 2023)

Beautifully juxtaposing the realities and expectations of a young girl approaching womanhood in the Dominican Republic, Boca Chica shines a light on the insidious child sex trade and the lives it seeks to destroy.

Special Guests: Introduction by Dr. Molly Hamm-Rodriguez (USF, College of Education) and Q&A with director Gabriella A. Moses
