mylittlebrother -
mylittlebrother’s music brings together a distinctive blend of pop, rock, and psychedelia. This signature sound has earned them a devoted following across the country, along with widespread praise for their two albums. Their live performances, captivating and harmony-laden, continue to solidify their reputation as a standout act.
Their latest album ‘Howl’, released on L.A’s Big Stir Records, received critical acclaim. Throughout 2024 the band was hard at work crafting its follow-up at Polestar Studios in Newcastle, collaborating with Alex Blamire (Hector Gannet), whilst refining their live sound with extensive touring, including two national tours and multiple festival appearances.
The band has earned support from BBC 6 Music’s Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson, with Robinson hailing their single Nosedive as “a worthy contender for record of the week”. Additional airplay has come on BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and various local stations across the UK, Europe and the USA.
mylittlebrother’s eclectic, hard-to-pin-down style has brought invitations to perform with Frank Turner, Glasvegas and Juniore, and has lead to dozens of festival appearances including headlining stages at Kendal Calling,Wild On The Wall and Haddstock, as well as joyous main stage appearances at Solfest and Eskfest. They have also appeared on the line-ups at the Sea Power curated Krankenhaus, ButeFest, Blackthorn Festival and many more.
Their third album, Throwing Darts At Maps, is out later this year
Sol Power -
“The band that fits in a matchbox”, Amsterdam’s Sol Power are a group based on the principles of the atomic bomb. Three musicians with two small amps and one small drum kit, playing two-minute bursts of nosebleed intensity at breakneck speed. They call it “panic pop”, an apt, if not very informative moniker.
Like the unruly lovechild of Kurt Cobain and Carole King, Sol Power explores the edges of noise and quirky, dissonant leaps in key and tone, while never straying irretrievably far from a solid base in hooky songwriting. Frontman Ben Chapman’s humorous, sardonic lyrics reflect the frustration of the young working class, robbed of their identity and ideals in a world of nepotism, hate-mongering and increasing social inequity.
Their latest single 'Sell Ya Soul' is a hyperactive sucker-punch to the senses, showcasing the dynamic range of the band from the honeysuckle to the buzzsaw, and featuring soaring backing vocals from Personal Trainer’s own Franti Marešová.
Their raucous, sweat-drenched performances and airtight musicianship have marked them as the latest Dutch indie band to watch with a keen eye, as they set their sights on international exposure in 2025.
