Friends Together is partnering with MyMichigan Health to bring their MyKitchen Teaching Series to our building in Alpena. We will be a virtual hub for classes. This means people have the option of gathering with others and participating via zoom on our big screen in our group room. All handout materials will be made available at our site. Coffee and tea will be provided. Next Topic: Healthy Holiday Eating

Class Description: Healthy Holiday Eating
The holidays can put a wrench in our attempt to
eat healthy, but does it have too? Join us as we
discuss common causes of holiday weight gain and
how to make simple adjustments to holiday meals
to reduce the number of calories consumed. You’ll
learn suggestions on how to “lighten up” old favorite
recipes and perhaps even replace those favorites
with delicious new recipes. We’ll also discuss the
health benefits found in foods that we commonly eat
during the holidays. This class will conclude with a
cooking demonstration of three common holiday foods
prepared in a healthier way.
