About this Event
The Mama Joe Project is a national initiative to support caregivers and improve outcomes for elders with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia. Centered on the documentary film My Mama Joe, Hope & Help the event is appropriate for all ages and audiences and includes a post-film talkback with local experts, and distribution of materials from area agencies. This is a free public event, where all are welcome. Physical tickets will be issued on site during check-in the day of the event.

Caregivers Conversation (pre-film workshop)
Info: Before the film screening, we invite caregivers to join in a conversation with health care professionals. We will discuss the elements of good medical care for dementia and how to partner with your healthcare team to achieve it. We will also talk about oral health and resources available from VirginiaNavigator, the Virginia Department of Health, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
