Every Black youth deserves to love their crown — and know how to care for it with pride.

The My Crown My Way™ Confidence Camp: Where Hair Care Meets Self-Care™ is a first-of-its-kind cultural wellness experience designed to help Black youth build confidence, self-awareness, and joy through hair care, creativity, and mindfulness.

Created by mother-daughter duo Naheemah & Namia McCallop, authors of the book My Crown My Way™, this interactive 60-minute session blends hair education, emotional wellness, and cultural pride to teach youth how to care for their crowns — and themselves with love.

With renowned hairstylist and educator Ashley Clerk, youth will learn pratical tips on natural hair care, maintence and techniques to leave every attendee confident in knowing how to care for their natural hair and style it.

This isn’t your average camp — it’s a celebration.
A space where every Black youth is seen, celebrated, and reminded that their crown tells a story worth honoring.

In one unforgettable hour, youth will:
✨ Hear My Crown My Way™ come to life through storytelling and reflection
✨ Learn simple, healthy routines for detangling, moisturizing, and protecting natural hair with stylist Ashley Clerk.
✨Participate in a Confidence Craft "I love my hair because" and Mindful Moments activty
👑 Crown Graduation Ceremony

Each participant receives:
A My Crown My Way™ Confidence Book Box w/ Hair Care Products and Graduation Certificate of Confidence with each confidence camp focusing on a different level of learning.

Black youth ages 6-16 who are ready to:
💖 Build confidence and self-esteem
💇🏾‍♀️ Learn fun, simple ways to care for their natural hair
🌿 Practice mindfulness and emotional regulation
👑 Celebrate their beauty, culture, and heritage

Because it’s more than an activity, it’s an experience that reminds Black youth who they are. It’s the space every parent has wished existed one that teaches cultural pride, self/hair care, and emotional awareness all in one.
