If you are considering entering photos in the Twin Falls County Fair Photography Department this year, we invite you to join us!!
The Magic Valley Camera Club is pleased to sponsor a presentation by Don Johnson, Boise, on “Preparing Images for Printing and Entering the Fair”. Don is a professional photographer providing fine art, portrait, event, and architectural services through Arrowrock Photography, and large event photography and skills training through Sawtooth Photo Pros LLC. He has judged the Photography Department entries at the Twin Falls County Fair the past 4 years and has been an Assistant Photography Superintendent and judge at the Western Idaho State Fair. He provides photography education through Boise Community Education and is the host for “Photo Assignment”, a popular Facebook group for 15+ years.
Don’s presentation will include – but not be limited to - information on:
• What are the merits a judge is looking for in an image?
• Suggestions for making an impact with a black and white
image.
• What are “leading lines” and the “rule of thirds”?
• How to choose the best image sizes for your photos.
• Print finishes – when to use matte, glossy, metallic, etc.
• How to properly crop a photo.
• How does the physical presentation of an image impact judging?
• What are the qualities that make a photo “stand out” above the others in their Lot/category?
We are excited to have Don present to the Magic Valley Camera Club, and we invite EVERYONE to attend this informative meeting. You do NOT need to be a member of the MVCC to participate!!
