NEW GROUP! This new Mahoning Valley reading and discussion group comes together to learn, share, and develop a vision for liberation now. We'll read and discuss recent and classic queer texts and ask: What does it mean for LGBTQIA+ folks to get free? To live authentically? To queer existence? How have folks imagined this before? What do we think & do now?
Where to start? We picked this stone cold classic by trans activist/lawyer/scholar Dean Spade, Normal Life: Administrative Violence, Critical Trans Politics, and the Limits of Law.
Hopefully folks will get to read the intro & conclusion. Intro: "Rights, Movements, and Critical Trans Politics." Conclusion "This is a protest, not a parade!"
