Our next Mutual Aid Meet Up is coming up July 18th!
This month, we'll be joined by a special guest giving a presentation and DIY lesson on hand-sewing, mending, and making readily available repair kits!
In a world where necessities like food, gas, and more are only increasing in price, buying new or even replacing worn clothing is often not even an option. Through learning to stitch and mend, we can extend the lives of our wardrobes and cut down on additional costs.
With dependable references from the book ππ΅πͺπ΅π€π© ππ΅, ππ°π―'π΅ ππͺπ΅π€π© ππ΅ by Jeanna Wigger and Mary V. Morton, you'll walk away with essential skills like replacing buttons, fixing seams, stopping fraying, and more to extend the life of your clothing π§΅πͺ‘
β£ Extra supplies will be available, but are limited. If you happen to have existing supplies of your own and just don't know how to use them, please be sure to bring them as well as any clothing, linens, etc; already in need of repairing to learn as we go!
β£ A couple of copies of ππ΅πͺπ΅π€π© ππ΅, ππ°π―'π΅ ππͺπ΅π€π© ππ΅ will be available at a discounted price.
Additionally, attendees are encouraged to bring what they can and take what they needβthough providing donations is not required!
Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Non-Perishable Food & Water
- Hygiene & Feminine Products
- Infant Care (diapers, formula, etc;)
- First Aid (sunscreen, bandages, etc;)
- Clothing in good condition
- Other useful essentials (batteries, flashlights, etc;)
