This will be a very special concert and WORM is proud to present it! CatchPenny Ensemble is a music collective providing composers and artists a space for collaborating, and exchanging and practising creative musical and artistic ideas. This shows exactly what WORM is about, and a good start of the new year!
Mutations and Variations is a new concert programme featuring four new audiovisual works for ensemble & electronics.
Visuals are more than notation: they guide the ensemble while standing as striking works of art in their own right. Interactive scores that unfold as a shared space between performers and audience.
CatchPenny invited four makers to explore this common theme: interdisciplinary composer Luke Deane creates technically ambitious productions; composer-performer-educator Maya Verlaak challenges performer-audience dynamics; Jan Foote crafts immersive, shifting soundscapes; and Jimena Maldonado fuses music, photography, and socially engaged practice.
