Mustang Ball DanceSport Competition

The Cal Poly Ballroom Team is pleased to announce our 18th Annual Mustang Ball DanceSport Competition, to be held on the weekend of February 7-8, 2026, in the Chumash Auditorium in Cal Poly's University Union

This Ballroom & Latin dance competition will feature competitive events in International Standard and Latin, American Smooth and Rhythm, and Nightclub dances (including Salsa, Hustle, West Coast Swing, Argentine Tango, Lindy Hop). There will also be a formation team competition, performances, a team match, and other fun events throughout the event.

Attend as a spectator to watch some great dancing or sign up to compete in one of our many competitive events.

This year's Cal Poly Mustang Ball will be held in the Chumash Auditorium on the 2nd floor of Cal Poly's University Union. The best place to park for this event is the Grand Avenue Parking Structure next to the Cal Poly Performing Art Center. Info: Join us for our unofficial pre-competition social at World-Famous Madonna Inn on Friday, February 6th. We'll be ballroom dancing to a live band from 7:30pm to 10:00pm (or later!) so come join us for social dancing and socializing! There is no cover charge, but we encourage tipping the band and buying food and refreshments at Madonna Inn!

Info: We will be holding workshops and private lessons with several of our professional staff! We are offering some great deals for both the workshop and private lessons. Don't miss this excellent opportunity to obtain instruction and valuable dance insights from these top dance professionals! Each workshop will be 55 minutes long, followed by a 5 minute break. The workshops will focus on techniques that are broadly applicable rather than particular choreography and will be useful to dancers of all levels.
