We’re excited to bring you a classic Lake District route, exploring the waterfalls and woodland of Aira Gorge before climbing to the open summit of Gowbarrow Fell, with sweeping views over Ullswater.

This circular hike takes in one of the region’s most iconic landscapes. From the tumbling cascades of Aira Force and shaded woodland paths, to open fellside trails and panoramic viewpoints, the route offers a rewarding mix of scenery and terrain. The climb to Gowbarrow Fell reaches approximately 496m, providing expansive views across Ullswater and the surrounding fells.

With early spring bringing longer days and changing colours, this hike offers a perfect balance of challenge and beauty at a steady, social pace.
