About this Event

Welcome to Muskwy of the məθkʷəy̓!

məθkʷəy̓ is the rivergrass, a plant species from where the name Musqueam derives. It's nearly the same word, which in the Amazonian Kichwa language means dream.

Join us in the garden on Sunday, July 26th from 1 - 4pm where stories of the land come alive and Indigenous knowledge keepers tell ancient prophecies that instruct us how to build climate resilience, rich, thriving communities.

This event is part of a carving project led by Martin Sparrow, and participants will have a chance to paint the traditional carving that reflects the beauty and power of the Moberly Medicine Garden and Musqueam territory.

After the talk, explore a vibrant market filled with unique finds, including locally sourced canned salmon, handmade beadwork, herbal wellness products, and more!

This event is outdoors, free to attend & family friendly.
