Musician Appreciation Day Honoring Gary Frey

Join us at The Barn for a special evening celebrating the life and legacy of Gary Frey, recipient of The Barn’s 2026 Music Appreciation Award.
Gary was much more than an accomplished drummer. He was a teacher, mentor, neighbor and friend whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives throughout the Zanesville community. For decades, he shared his talent with local musicians and bands and donated his time to benefits and community causes. During more than 40 years as an educator, he also inspired generations of students.
On Sunday, October 11, we’ll gather to remember Gary, share some stories and present the award to his wife, Jenny Frey, in his honor.
