Come listen to a Musical History of the Polka presented by GAC Member Tom Powell.Tom Powell, a member of the GAC, is a retired US Army veteran, whose 23-year career reflects a lifelong commitment to communication, culture and music.
Tom spent eleven years living in Germany, where he developed a deep appreciation for the German language, culture and traditions. During his time abroad, Tom became especially drawn to the German language and music, with a lasting love for polkas.
His experiences in Germany continue to influence his interests and allow him to share the joy and cultural significance of polka music with others, and with us, in this presentation.
