Drum Jam Residency Showcase
Join us for an evening of installation, interactive art, and live music as we celebrate the outcomes of the Drum Jam Residency.
Developed within Halaqat and implemented in partnership with Drum Jam, the residency brought together three artists working across music, psychology, visual expression, and community engagement to explore the themes of care and gender through artistic research and experimentation.
On 28 June, visitors are invited to experience three new works created during the residency:
✨ Fragments of Care: Self-Care, Gender, and Incompleteness – an immersive installation by Sarah Salah exploring self-care, interruption, and the unfinished nature of everyday life.
🎨The Art of Feeling: What's Inside You? – an interactive art and music experience by Ahd Saber, inviting participants to respond to music through painting, drawing, and writing on a shared collective canvas.
🎶 Care, Gender & Egyptian Folk Songs – a live concert by Samar Hussein and her band, approaching Egyptian folk music as a living archive of women’s voices, stories, and experiences.
Through three distinct artistic formats, the showcase offers different ways of engaging with care: as a personal practice, a collective experience, a form of memory, and a way of understanding our relationships with ourselves and others.
