Take a musical trip through New York City — from the smooth swing of Harlem jazz to the rhythm of Bronx hip-hop! Discover how diverse communities shaped genres like jazz, doo-wop, salsa, and hip-hop, creating a soundscape that changed the world.
Our presenter, Nadia Blouin from New York City, currently an English Teaching Assistant in Eger, will guide us through NYC’s boroughs and their vibrant musical history — featuring icons such as Duke Ellington, Celia Cruz, and the Sugarhill Gang.
🎷 Great stories, iconic songs, and a taste of the city that never sleeps!
🎤 Free entry | Interactive presentation | All are welcome!
N.B. Due to renovation works at the American Corner, this event will be held in the Lecture Room (Nagyelőadó) right next to the American Corner premises (across from the restrooms on the Ground Floor).
