Music Night at the CCA!
Schedule
Sat May 04 2024 at 06:30 pm to 09:30 pm
UTC-07:00Location
113 N Park Dr, El Cajon, CA, United States, California 92021 | El Cajon, CA
(Yep! Star Wars Day!)
We’ve got some harmony potential here!
Baird & Silva, despite the name, is usually a trio, if not a quartet or quintet, with John venturing into harmony at times, and sometimes Bethany and Steve also joining.
Warren, Williams, and Jones all warm those vocal talents up depending on what they are presenting, and The Art Street Boys likely have that potential as well.
Remember the $2 per person for the CCA jar that makes the venue possible, and last Music Night was pretty good! 🙂
Music Night is designed so you can come early, late, stay for the evening, and let you leave when you need to - and it’s very OK to come and go, but do indeed come!
Donate once, and enjoy yourself.
If you want to have the kids be exposed to live music, but they have a bedtime schedule - leave early. We’re always striving for a family friendly experience.
If 6:30pm is just not a part of your music listening ‘begin time’, please do come later for the last hour or earlier.
You will still get to hear all of the different performers.
Musician's play 3 songs and then rotate throughout the evening giving you a chance to hear each group or individual, if you can give about an hour.
Please come and check out each Music Night as the guests are always changing. (The host does not change, but the guests do.)
The point is to let our audience hear many different and outstanding local performers, old and new, get the CCA enough of a donation for the evening to defray the cost of a rental so we can continue, and to get the musician’s something more in that tip jar so they’ll want to return, as many do.

-Warren, Williams, and Jones
Bob Warren has been prolific of late with several CD’s and his signature style. He is sometimes known as “The King of Pain”, although he’s always been delightful as far as I’m concerned.
Along with Gary Williams, an East County guitarist and vocalist doing his own cover and original music while developing his own unique style, and local performer living here in Crest, Dave Jones, who has a quieter and complimentary delivery style with his own agenda and list of tunes you won’t hear every day, they mix together quite nicely!
-The Art Street Boys
Having performed, (or maybe thinking about performing) under the name Jamacha Junction, these guys are anxious to get themselves into your ears.
The Art Street Boys are Andy Robinson, Jackson Wagner, and Mark Phillips. Andy sings and plays ukulele and dulcimer. Jackson and Mark sing and play guitar.
Now for the ‘Noisy Boyz’ part of the performance triad, and your musical hosts.
-Baird & Silva are a local originals and "twisted covers" acoustic electric tour de force and your hosts for the evening!
They are always rotating, and adding to, their song choices so audiences can hear not only original music, but also those twisted covers, while maybe experiencing something new and unexpected.
What is a “twisted cover’” you might ask? Well, something that makes other peoples music unique to Baird & Silva. They’ll alter a song to add a little sumpin, sumpin they thought should be there, or that might completely affect the flavor or character of that song.
We are always honored to have these stellar artists perform at our gathering.
Come see!
If you've never been to a Music Night, you need to experience this.
As always, the event doubles as that Crest Community Association fundraiser, with a $2 per person suggested donation at the door. (Kids are always free!)
We have 2 additional donation pots; 1 for the musicians, and 1 for the coffee and tea we provide via Denise, so bring a little extra. We all work very hard to put Music Night's on for you, so let them all know. That little largess can go a long way!
If your name is Bezos, Musk, or Zuckerberg, put in a little more - You can afford it. 🙂
In the era of post-COVID, we have nixed the pot luck, but you are encouraged to B.Y.O.S.W. - bring your own sensible whatever, for yourself.
We have tables! We have many chairs!
I have seen dinner picnics!
Get Mexican food from the La Cresta Mexican Restaurant a block away.
We are always non-profit, with the donation pot going to the CCA, the ‘snack’ jar goes for refreshment supplies, and the tip jar for the musicians, so the more that musician's are "appreciated", the more they will hopefully return for another round someday…
So, come on!
Make it a moment...make it an evening. The CCA wins...you win!
