Eklektiko is a guitar and piano/vocal duo that explores the music of the Balkans, the Mediterranean, and beyond. Tanja Miric, a native of Bosnia, is both a classical guitarist and the arranger of much of the repertoire. The traditional folk songs of the Balkan peninsula are sometimes soulful, sometimes playful, and they often tell colorful stories. Sarah Waters, mezzo-soprano, sings Tanja’s versions of these songs, which are Bosnian, Croatian, and Greek in origin. Eklektiko also delves into the guitar and piano duets of Boccherini (writing in a Spanish style) and Diabelli (in an Austrian style), as well as contemporary French composer Erik Marchelie.
