Music City Roots at Harken Hall July 29
Music City Roots at Harken Hall is set for Wednesday, July 29, featuring MT Jones, CJ Solar & The Old Souls and Fly by Night at 7:00 p.m.
These artists bring incredible musicianship and storytelling for an unforgettable evening celebrating country, folk, bluegrass, and Americana music.
Gathering inspiration from 60s and 70s soul greats to modern R&B and jazz, MT Jones evokes a sound that is both contemporary and timeless. His deeply soulful vocals transport you straight back to a smoke-filled speakeasy, which somehow still feels fresh and innovative. His debut single “I Won't Ever Say Goodbye,” is a soulful, heart-on-sleeve ballad that marks the start of big things and his latest single, “Feeling Lonely” has quickly followed suit.
CJ Solar and The Old Souls is CJ’s new artistic endeavor, fusing Southern rock, Delta blues and Nashville country with Louisiana swampy grooves. Led by CJ Solar, the band marks Solar’s reentry into life as a recording artist with a renewed sense of purpose, passion and identity. Solar leans into his Baton Rouge roots and appreciation for bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Allman Brothers.
Fly By Night featuring Kyser George, Sadie Wilkie and Eli Wilkie showcase a blend of traditional bluegrass blended with multiple genres, creating a clean, smooth voice. While they showcase the classics, they put a flair on expanding boundaries by playing good old bluegrass music.
Music City Roots celebrates great musicians, amazing acoustics, and the thrill of live performance. The format includes performances and interviews with each artist. Legendary artist Jim Lauderdale will serve as host, Keith Bilbrey will return as announcer and Ranger Doug Green of Riders in the Sky will interview each artist.
Born as a live radio show and now a nationally recognized television series, Music City Roots has a long-standing partnership with WMOT 89.5 FM in the Murfreesboro-Nashville area.
The showcase is set for Wednesday, July 29, and doors open at 6:00 p.m. for the 7:00 p.m. concert. Tickets start at $25 and are now on sale at https://www.harkenhall.com/. Harken Hall is located at 514 Madison Station Blvd., Madison, TN 37115, just 11 minutes from downtown Nashville.
Complimentary parking is available, and food and beverages may be purchased throughout the evening.
About Music City Roots
Music City Roots has been hailed as “truly extraordinary” and “the greatest live radio in America” by journalists who have visited and artists who’ve played the Roots stage. Upon Launch in 2009, the Nashville Scene called it, “akin to what the Opry must have been like 60 years ago.” The program has become a trusted curator and tastemaker for excellence in Americana music. Joining legends from Emmylou Harris to The Doobie Brothers with up-and-coming legends from Brandi Carlisle to Billy Strings, the show works to shine a light on artists of integrity and grow the audience by cross-pollinating these fanbases.
