Centered around the theme of love during a time of conflict in our world, this uplifting concert features a beautiful collection of sacred classical works, African American spirituals, Filipino folk songs, love ballads, and contemporary choral pieces.
The program includes music by composers such as Scarlatti and Tallis, alongside traditional spirituals and specially arranged Filipino folk songs and contemporary ballads by the choir's founder and Music Director, George Hernandez. Set within the breathtaking interior of St. Peter's Chapel and its renowned Tiffany stained glass windows, this promises to be a memorable afternoon of exceptional music.
Founded in 1976 at the University of the Philippines, the Philippine Saringhimig Singers has earned international acclaim through award-winning performances and appearances at prestigious choral festivals throughout Europe, North America, and Asia. The choir has performed at renowned venues including Lincoln Center in New York and has received numerous honors recognizing its excellence in music and cultural achievement.

Please note that St. Peter's Chapel is a historic building and is not wheelchair accessible. The Chapel is a contributing resource to the Mare Island Historic District and, due to its historic nature, cannot be made fully ADA accessible in accordance with 28 C.F.R. § 35.150(a)(2). Entry to the Chapel requires navigating steps at the entrance, and there are additional interior steps, including access to the altar and organ areas.
