Join SVMoA for a talk by Dr. Elena Shtromberg as she highlights Frida: The Making of an Icon, an exhibition currently on display at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Dr. Shtromberg will discuss the life and art of Frida Kahlo and the exhibition of Kahlo’s work at MFAH. Departing from the traditional retrospective format, the exhibition revolves around a selection of Kahlo’s masterworks, memorabilia, and documents from her archives, as well as a vast array of works from artists across artistic and social movements who were inspired by her practice.Dr. Shtromberg is a professor, author, and curator specializing in modern and contemporary Latin American visual culture.
