Enjoy a unique day exploring the treasures of the Museum of Islamic art, followed by a very interesting walk in Khayameya market.
The Museum of Islamic Art contains one of the largest and most extensive collections of Islamic artifacts in the world.It was inaugurated in 1903.
The museum was renovated in 2016 and a re-curation for the display of the pieces was taken into consideration to show the masterpieces in an interesting way.
Today, the museum exhibits a large selection of artifacts from all over the world covering subjects such as astronomy, medicine and engineering. The vast collection allows the visitor to journey through all periods of Islamic history by viewing some of the most magnificent artifacts, including finely carved woodwork, delicately decorated ceramics and rare manuscripts.
A Mamluk key to the Ka’ba in Mecca and a textile bearing the oldest Kufic inscription are among the museum’s notable possessions.
On our guided tour, you will discover more about the stories of these masterpieces and learn more about the Islamic history and art.

- Total Walking distance: 600 m (1.4 KM total, if you will go to Fatary al Hussein)
- Tours are not suitable for children below 10
- Tour language: English (If we are joined by non-Arabic speakers)
- Group size: 14 - 15 guests
- A minimum number is needed for the tour to take place. We reserve the right to cancel the tour anytime, if it doesn't reach the minimum number needed. In that case, guests will be advised by email and refund will take place.
