Join us for this “field trip” edition of Museum Midday at the Ketchikan Pioneers of Alaska, Pioneer Hall (314 Pioneer Alley) on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. as we celebrate Women’s History Month with stories honoring the women who have shaped Ketchikan, past and present. The Tongass Historical Museum, in partnership with the Pioneers of Alaska, invite you to a special Museum Midday gathering in honor of Women’s History Month.
We’re setting aside time to share short tributes (3-7 minutes) about women connected to Ketchikan — past or present, living or remembered — whose lives made a difference.
She might have led publicly or shaped her community quietly. Worked on the water or behind the scenes. Passed down language, recipes, skills, or stories. Held a family together. Started something. Challenged something. Sustained something.
She might be, a culture bearer, a teacher, a business owner, a neighbor, a matriarch, a quiet force, or an unapologetic firebrand. Big legacy or everyday strength—we want to hear about her.
How to participate:
• Join us in person at Pioneer Hall, sign-up in advance, or add your name to the sharing list when you arrive.
• Submit a written reflection by emailing Erika Jayne: [email protected] and we will share it during the program.
• Prefer something brief? You’re welcome to share a tribute in the comments to be read aloud on March 5th.
Bring a memory. Bring your gratitude. Bring a name. Bring a story.
Let’s honor and celebrate the women who have shaped Ketchikan — together.
