100 pull-ups (solo = 100; duo = 50; quad-team = 25)
200 push-ups (solo = 200; duo = 100; quad-team = 50)
300 air-squats (solo = 300; duo = 150; quad-team = 75)
a final 1.6km (1-mile) run from Waterfront Fitness along the boardwalk, across the Selkirk Trestle and back; return points will be monitored for full (1.6km), duo (800m ea) and quad-team (400m ea) runs
Note that solo and team participants can choose from three performance classes to match their fitness levels and abilities. The aggregate (overall) time scores within each competitive level and gender class will be ranked for standings, awards and medals.
Exhibition Murph (EX): EX participants can break their solo or team sections into manageable, partial sets (e.g. a solo participant can run, then break the pull-up/push-up/squat sequences into smaller cycles, such as 10/20/30 until the full counts are complete); EX contestants can also request assistance for pull-ups (e.g. with the use of bands or boxes), partial knee-push-ups and restricted-range squats, based on ability and safety. EX participants (both solo and team) must achieve the total overall counts of each challenge to complete the event and qualify for official results and medals.
Classic Murph (RX): RX participants can break their solo or team sections into manageable, partial sets (e.g. a solo participant can run, then break the pull-up/push-up/squat sequences into smaller cycles, such as 10/20/30 until the full counts are complete), but full, unassisted movements are required for each challenge component; each RX participant or team will be provided with a station judge to ensure that complete ranges of motion and technical accuracy for each challenge set are achieved; incomplete movements can be paused or repeated until challenge counts are completed. RX participants (both solo and team) must achieve the total overall counts of each challenge to complete the event and qualify for official results and medals.
Elite Murph (RX-Elite): RX-Elite participants must compete wearing a 20lb vest (men) or 10lb vest (women) throughout the entire challenge sequence. Both solo and team contestants must fully complete each set in the sequence before moving onto the next challenge component (no partial sets or mix/match sets permitted). In the case of team contestants (teams of 2 or 4), the first team contestant in each team must complete his or her complete set of challenges before the next team contestant can begin, and so on until the full challenge is complete. Weighted, full and unassisted movements are required for each challenge component; each RX-Elite participant or team will be provided with a station judge to ensure that complete ranges of motion and technical accuracy for each challenge set are achieved; incomplete movements can be paused or repeated until challenge counts are completed. RX participants (both solo and team) must achieve the total overall counts of each challenge to complete the event and qualify for official results and medals
Race fees include a sized-and-gender-pre-order Murph tech shirt (for participants who register on or before 31 October) as well medals (for winners).
All participants must complete a new and separate 2025 FGPC Waiver to be registered for this event; this waiver will be provided for on-line completion after you have registered and paid.
