Mull Fiddle Week has been specially curated by top Scottish fiddler and popular educator, Patsy Reid. On fiddle teaching duties, Patsy will be joined by the amazing English fiddle player, Sam Sweeney, who is also an experienced and much in demand tutor. On mixed instrument/groupwork duties we're delighted to present the one and only Sandy Brechin and we will also be joined by the wonderful cellist, Alice Allen. What a dream team!

THE LEARNING
With a real focus on learning, the week will offer classes in tune learning; incorporating technique, improving aural skills, relevant theoretical knowledge as well as stylistic features of Scottish and English fiddle music. There will be two levels of fiddle class; slow learners/less experienced & happy learners/intermediate/advanced, alternating between Patsy and Sam.
Alice will lead a cello class, focusing on technique, melodies and accompaniment, syncing up with the fiddle class. Meanwhile, Sandy will keep the ‘other’ instrumentalists busy in his mixed instrument class. Everyone will have the opportunity to be part of the group-work classes, with Sandy at the helm.
If that all sounds a bit serious, fret not - there is an extensive extra curricular and out-of-hours programme of events that is sure to get you excited as well.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR
In addition to music classes, the ticket price includes all tutor performances, tons of sessions (including slow), masterclasses/Q+A, a concert/ceilidh, and for the foodies - a very special seafood feast at The Glass Barn, showcasing some of the island’s finest seafood, including creel caught crab, lobster and Isle of Mull Oysters. There will be delicious vegetarian options too using locally sourced produce. Continuing our collaboration with local businesses, there will even be a special 'Fiddlers' cocktail and mocktail available to purchase at our festival 'hub', The Western Isles Hotel.
For those keen to see a bit more of Mull and the surrounding Islands, we have chartered a boat from Turus Mara to take us from Ulva Ferry to the magical Island of Staffa! Yes, you read right, we'll have Wednesday afternoon off to visit Fingal's Cave! This is an optional extra and tickets will be bookable nearer the time.

**** In what is currently a fairly challenging economy, we will do our absolute best to maintain these fees over the course of the next year. Our suppliers' rates are outwith our control, and as an unfunded venture, prices may be liable for a slight increase, in line with inflation. We are not in it to make a profit, but simply have Mull Fiddle Week wash it's own face!

ACCOMMODATION
We are launching more than a year in advance, mostly to allow you to get your accommodation organised. Do not underestimate how popular Tobermory is in the Summer! If you would like to team up with somebody and share a twin room, let us know and we can put you in touch.
Our festival 'hub', The Western Isles Hotel are kindly offering a 25% 'Fiddlers Discount', so if you fancy a short stagger up to bed after our late night sessions, then that sounds like a good plan! There are many other excellent accommodation options in and around Tobermory - here is a short list.
